Segmed envisions a future where medical AI helps patients and clinicians all over the world have access to a better standard of care. Their secured cloud-based platform provides a one-stop shop solution for medical AI companies to acquire medical image labels and accelerate the development of medical AI algorithms. All data is anonymized, standardized and labeled, and finally curated into medical datasets, allowing developers to shave months off their deployment timelines.

Segmed was selected for the Y Combinator W20 batch. Y Combinator is one of the most competitive and well-known seed accelerators in Silicon Valley. Since 2005, Y Combinator has allowed over 2,000 companies to thrive, including names such as Airbnb, Coinbase, Instacart, and Dropbox. 

About the company

Segmed is a rapidly growing startup with around 40 highly-experienced engineers and staff members. The office is based out of Stanford, CA but they operate through a fully remote, distributed team of employees working from 7+ countries. Segmed was founded by a group of international physicians, researchers and engineers from Stanford, who have firsthand experience with the struggle of obtaining high quality data for medical research. They are convinced that solving this problem will push the whole field forward.
